Binary drum grooves based on sixteenth notes are indefinitely modifiable. Sixteenth notes can be played linearly, but combined they can also form a variety of figures: dotted eighth/sixteenth note, sixteenth/eighth/sixteenth note, one eighth/two sixteenth notes, two sixteenth/one eighth note, etc. Particularly for playing in funk, soul, or rhythm ’n’ blues style binary sixteenth-note grooves are absolutely necessary! This course provides a video demonstration example, four technical exercises with their corresponding recordings, as well as six drum grooves you can play along to backing tracks.
